Helllloooo my beautiful people!!! My name is April how about you? i sure do hope you still remember me hahaha you probably realized that i went hiatus for 3 months. Why? Lame reason. I was too lazy. Actually i work 930am to 6pm monday-friday when i get off from work i sometimes go out for a dinner with friends or go to my bf's house to hang out. Saturdays are usually my day off but those are the times i like to party! and for sunday.. i work at my part time job. That is why i lost time on blogging and keeping you guys updated. So i went for a week long vacation at vegas and california to celebrate my grandfather's 75th birthday :) i did some makeup shopping here and there. I wanted to share with ya'll the makeup that i bought during my stay there.

Note that i did not buy all of these in 1 day I'm usually not that type of person who buys everything at once lol..sometimes i tend to hesitate on certain products then i would regret later on not getting them so then i would make another trip to purchase themm lol

Revlon photoready in 008 golden beige (010 was a tad bit darker than my skin so i decided to purchase a lighter one so i can mix them and i am lovvinn the result! i was going to get 009 but it has pink undertones)
MAC cremesheen glass in Going Casual ( hands down the best mac lipgloss! i love the fact that it is not sticky at all it's the prettiest pinkish lilac i've ever seen)
Revlon matte eyeliner ( this was a bonus eyeliner that came with the vintage lace e/s that i got from winners. it was only 4.99 so heck i bought it haha)

Maybelline stylish smokes: Amethyst smokes look (all drugstore) // products I regret buying

I recently purchased the maybelline stylish smokes quad because they were on sale for $3.99! super great deal! The amethyst smokes was my favourite among the four kinds. So I decided to make a tutorial using the amethyst smokes quad. The rest of the products I used were all drugstore.

I made a list of a few products that i regret buying over the year. They are simply the products that did not work out for me.

Maybelline mineral powder foundation - gave me dry patches
ELF studio eyeshadow - chalky,powdery, you need to layer this to really get the color
Physicians formula wet/dry baked eyeshadow trio ( I never really liked the physicians formula brand. The only reason why i bought this was because I had a coupon) - poor color payoff
MAC lipglass - too sticky
ELF 2 in 1 conditioning gloss - stickier than the lipglasses, the color comes out chunky, packaging sucks
NYX circe round lipstick - this particular color washes me out
Sally hansen instadry nail polish - it dries too fast thus making application very hard, streaky, creates air bubbles
Loreal nail polish - streaky
EBAY false lashes - It came in 30 pairs (3 box). 1 box was full of lashes that were too thick and dramatic for my liking. I tried a pair and i had to remove them immediately because i looked like a hooker.

Last wednesday, June 2nd, my bestfriend graduated from college. Yay congratulations donna!

Last sunday, JP & I went to the theatre and watched Alice in wonderland. Johnny Depp is his favorite actor. Theatre was pretty empty. The movie was great. Then we went to Joe Fortes seafood restaurant downtown for dinner. Great atmosphere & ambiance. i must say and there was also a piano playing in the background. Service was alright not exceptional and the food was delicious especially their crab cakes! While JP was drinking his beer he felt something hard in his mouth and surprisingly he found a very tiny piece of glass. He wasn't sure if it came from the glass or the cup of soup but whichever it is he was shocked and scared at the same time. He called the attention of our server right away to complain then their manager came to our table to apologize. We ended up getting our dinner for free that night. Anyway here are some of our photos

Vichy Dermablend Skin Concealer review

My review:
Let me just say I loveee this concealer! This is by far the best concealer i've ever used. It covers my dark circles very well. You only need a tiny amount because it is thick and creamy. It reminds me so much of the Amazing Concealer. I actually dont own one but I swatched it a couple of times in Sephora. Although it is a bit in the pricy side, It will definitely go a long way because like I said you only need a small amount to cover the dark circles completely. It stays put all day and doesn't cake up on me, well at least on my skin. Also what I love about this concealer is the smoothness whenever I apply it. Let me just tell you that the only problem i have to deal with everyday are not pimples and blemishes but DARK CIRCLES. Vichy Dermablend concealer covers them completely. The packaging is very sanitary as you can see. I don't have to dip my finger in a jar like my Benefit erase paste.

GUESS WHO'S BACK?!

hello my dear lovelies! I am back from my 6-week vacation! I had so much fun back in the Philippines. It was scorching hot it has only been a day or two of my stay there and i already got tanned.My complexion is actually tan but i got tanner when i stayed there LOL. Ok on to my bad news, I freaking broke my camera :( my canon sd750. I was in the boat island hopping and i was taking videos and i guess water got into it. That camera has been with me for 3 years. I'm eyeing on SONY cybershot DSC W390!

I did a lot of shopping there because it was soo affordable! No, I did not buy any makeup. what an achievent! LOL I bought a lot of stuff i probably won't be able to post them. TOO MUCH hahaha but here's few photos i would like to share with you during my stay in the Philippines:

How are y'all doing? I went to seattle premium outlet and ross twice for the past two weeks. It's almost a 2-hour drive from our place to Marysville, Washington including the long wait at the border. We are leaving on wednesday march 31st to philippines and so we have been buying stuff for our relatives back there. Can i just say how much i love ROSS dress for less!!!!! It's like winners here in Canada but better & cheaper :)) Here a bunch of clothing & shoes that I purchased at Ross and the outlet:

8. my most embarassing moment was when i tripped as i was crossing the pedestrian in the middle of a busy intersection (about 3 yrs ago) because of the heels i was wearing.. everyone were staring at me =0 lol

9. i never believed in LDR, until i met JP. <3

10. I want to get engaged by 23 and get married by 24-25 and have 3 kids =) hehe

Hey lovelies! I'm back with another post! The past few weeks has been hectic for me. Work and the winter olympics has taken over my week. I've been in and out of downtown almost everyday. sigh. hectic yet fun!!! Today I had long hours of sleep. I fell asleep right when i got home after work and i woke up around 1 am. It's almost 5am and decided to update my blog:)

That's the olympic cauldron behind us :) i will probably post more olympic photos next time.

I just want to share a video on my saturday's face of the day :)

I was planning to go to the mall to return a buffalo bag i purchased from winners but my bf fell asleep :( so we just went straight to his friend's party. We decided to leave the party at 1 am then we went to his place to hang out and watch filipino shows online but we fell asleep and woke up at 430am. We decided to go and have some pho (vietnamese soup). Then he went to my house and we watch maid in manhattan . yeahhh i know old movie but that was the only dvd i found at home lol he went home around 7am it was bright outside alreadyyy and i fell asleep again around 9am. what a night/morning! lol so anyways enough with the rambling there and here's the video:

I am lovinggg my headband =) I got it from icing by claires long time ago. I have a current obssesion on headbands with bow hehe one of my co-worker said that i look like a gift whenever i wear them because of the bow lol

UPCLOSE: MAC deep blue green pigment ( my very first mac pigment). GORGEOUS color!! the color is very much true to the name. It's very dark as you can see but in the light you can see blue/green shimmers in it!

Urban Decay Show Pony shadow box: Smokey Teal look // Mini drugstore haul

So i decided to do a teal look on saturday night for my friend's 22nd birthday. I was going to do a video tutorial but it was dark in my room because it's nightime already by the time i was getting ready so i decided to do a step by step still image tutorial :) I used the teal eyeshadow "painkiller" and shimmery peachy white "snatch" in the UD show pony shadow box.

Step 1: Of course, the first step is to always prime your lids because you dont want your hard work art to crease. And you want it to last longer.

Step 2: Apply painkiller e/s or any teal eyeshadow you have ( if you have mac graphic garden palette you can go ahead and use the teal e/s there because it looks exactly the same as the painkiller)

Step 3: Go in with "shadowy lady" on the outer half of the lid & blend the two colors together in the middle where they meet

Step 4: Apply a matte black e/s on the outer corner and feather it in with the two e/s we applied earlier. BLEND BLEND BLEND!

Step 5: Apply an off white matte e/s on the browbone for highlight. Then apply "snatch" (any shimmery white) on the tearduct using a finger to kind of blend.

Step 6: Apply the teal and black e/s we used on the lower lash line

Step 7: Line the eyes and waterline with a black eyeliner. Apply false lashes for a dramatic look (optional). Dont forget to use mascara to blend the falsies with your real lashes.

The nyc brozer was so powdery and chalky as soon as opened the package and swatched it. I wanted to try and see what the hype was all about with this bronzer but it was a total disappoinment. It did nothing to my face. On to the mascaras, i was so lucky to find the loreal mascara at dollarama. i just wanted to try it. it was only $2! I purchased the clear mascara from maybelline to use on my eyebrows. I find it too liquidy as oppose to gel to use it on my lashes. We'll see how that goes!
As for the 3 lip products here's some swatches on my lips ( oh and i didnt open the revlon rose & shine yet because im thinking of returning or exchanging it)

Mario Badescu free skincare samples set // Urban Decay show pony shadow box

I received my free samples yesterday from Mario Badescu skincare. It took about a month to arrive. Do you want free samples too? All you have to do is fill out their questionnaire and they will send you a bunch of samples depending on your answers (skin care analysis). I received a total of 7 products and they give a generous amount of samples in the jar =)

I went to sephora yesterday and got the Urban decay show pony shadow box. I originally wanted to get the Book of shadows but the shadows are pretty much all neutrals and i feel that they are dupables so i opted for this one. The turquoise and purple shade was the reason why i chose the palette. I remember going to sephora last month just before christmas and both locations in my area were sold out of all the UD palettes.

It comes with the mini primer potion and 24/7 liner in zero. I will probably add the mini eyeliner in my makeup purse because i already have the full size one in my makeup vanity.

I LOVE all the eyeshadows in this palette especially painkiller & flash! Here are my blurry swatches haha i want a new camera!!!!!

I did a swatch on the new eyeshadows that i showed you from my last post.

( sorry for the blurriness. i couldn't get my stubborn camera to focus )
L-R: PURE by Carlos Di Roma make me pure eyeshadow, NARS mekong e/s, URBAN DECAY chronic eyeshadow matte
I purchased the make me pure eyeshadow from rexall. This week they are having the PURE cosmetics on sale again for 75% off!!! Grab one for yourself while it's not too late ( i think they are only sold in canada). They also sell it at london drugs but they never go on sale there. The shade that i got is a grey pearl. Gorgeous color! Perfect for smokey eyes :) i just apply it all over the lid then blend out the areas around my crease to fade out or for dramatic look i apply a matte black eyeshadow on the crease from outer to inner corner.
The next one is NARS mekong eyeshadow. OMG! it's like the pretties dark brown i've ever seen. It's an espresso dark brown colour with tiny gold sparkles and it's soft. But you have to be very careful when applying this eyeshadow because when you swipe once a lot of product goes on. so it might have fall out here and there. i love it!! it's super pigmented! i promise to do a tutorial on this because it's like my favourite eyeshadow at the moment =)
My next product is the URBAN DECAY chronic eyeshadow. It's a light green matte eyeshadow. It has an ultra soft texture and it's not chalky at all. I have not tried this eyeshadow yet i just swatched it. So i dont really have much to say about this eyeshadow. I guess it's just one of those products you want to add for collection purposes hehe.

Now onto the perfumes.. i just decided to do a post on my perfume collection which i don't have a lot of.

How are y'all doing my lovelies! if you notice i've been in the mood of filming videos lately :) sorry if i havent been posting a lot here. forgive me.
so yeahhh i did this glam look with gold and black. If u want to really make it glamorous, wear a red lipstick instead of what im wearing in this vid. I bet you you'll get all the attention! haha

I also have a current fave video for you girls. The products mentioned in the video are my current favourite products as of december 5th, 2009.

Covergirl Trublend whipped foundation (soft honey): I lovee the consistency of this new found foundation of mine. It makes me want to eat it!! haha but the smell is horrible but it's bearable. It gives me great coverage and is very blendable. This does not cake on me and covered up my uneven skin really well. It gave me a nice dewy look :)

Revlon New Complexion concealer (light/medium 02): This concealer is very creamy in texture and works quite well with my dark circles. It will not cake up only if applied little. TIP: if applying cream concealer, make sure to pat not rub or smear to really get that coverage needed and i find that fingers work best when applying concealers.

MAC mineralized eyeshadow in Guilt by Association: I fell in love with this e/s right after i swatched it in the store :) This color is perfect for night outs!!

MAC mineralized blush in Superduper Natural: I love this blush! It's so pigmented. I like layering this on. It's like a perfect corally color! It looks super natural on my cheeks hence the name! haha too bad this is LE :( dang it! why are all the good stuff limited?! lol

MAC satin taupe e/s: This is everyone's favourite believe it or not! It's like the perfect taupe shade out there!! I dont think i can find a dupe for this! This shade is very versatile! I wear it both day and night. I also love the satin finish. If i could have one MAC e/s it would be satin taupe because i can wear this alone on my lids with no other color blended whatsoever :)

Urban decay 24/7 glide on pencil in zero: Amazing eyeliner! Perfect for the waterline because it's so soft,smooth, creamy and dark and stays put all day! I even have a hard time at the end of the day trying to remove it with my eye makeup remover. I always have a hard time with eyeliners smudging because i always end up with raccoon eyes.

Rimmel airy fairy lipstick: Very neutral pink color that glides on smoothly. This looks good with everything and i like the bubble gum scent :) oh and i buy them when they go on sale at shoppers drugmart for $2.99. hoooray for sales! lol

MAC Pink FIsh tinted lip conditioner: First of all this is a limited edition and i could not find this anywhere ( i tried CCO at seattle)!! i think other CCO might have this but how the heck am i gonna get it! lol I aint buying it on ebay because their price for it is ridiculous! This a nude pink/light purplish color. It really helps moisturize my lips. This is what i wear when i dont feel like wearing lipstick. Dear Pink fish, please don't run out on me :( Love, april

Hi lovelies! I want to share with you my night skin care routine. I have a normal to dry combination skin. My face doesnt get oily so i guess that's what i love about my skin. So i never really have a problem with acne and such. I rarely get pimples and if i do it is so tiny and goes away after a day or two. The only problem that i have to deal with everyday would have to be my horrible under eye dark circles.
So the items pictured below are what i use every night.

First off, I remove my eye makeup using the rimmel gentle eye makeup remover. If you wear waterproof mascara then this remover will definitely not work for you. Whenever i use this i notice it leaves tiny bits of residue which is okay for me because i still wash my face with a cleanser after and the cleanser i use is the neutrogena deep clean cream cleanser. This stuff is amazing! It leaves my skin smooth, soft and has a refreshing tingle. After cleansing, I take a face towel cloth and gently dabbing it on my face specially around the eye area to really get rid of the makeup residue. Once a week, I use the St.Ives Apricot Scrub to exfoliate. To moisturize my face, I use my DOVE deep moisture night cream. The cream is very rich and nourishing and it smells reallyyy good!! When i wake up in the morning, my face feels silky soft! Also one of the things i love about this moisturizer is that it doesnt leave greasiness like other moisturizers do such as the nivea rich regenerating night care. For my under eyes, i use the nivea aqua sensation eye cream. I cant say much about this eye cream simply because it's the not the bestest i've used. It's an okay product for me.

Honestly, I want to share with you one of my beauty crimes and that would be sleeping with makeup on. Im sure it's not just me but usually i get really tired and lazy at the end of the night that sometimes i just skip washing my face and go straight to bed. But i always make sure that this doesnt happen every night. So during those lazy nights i use the Balea makeup removing cloths ( shoppers drug mart exclusive). It works wonders! So for those of you who are too lazy and sleepy at night to wash your face try using makeup removing cloths! It's very convenient! Atleast you wont have to sleep with heavy layers of makeup!

Ofcourse i wont go to bed without vaseline on my lips!!

OMG! I look like i got punched in the eye because of my freakin` dark circles! LOL now you know how scary i look without layers of makeup.

HALLOWEEN DANCE CRUISE

I hope everyone had a blast last saturday cuz i did =) . We went to a halloween dance cruise and costumes were mandatory. The last time i wore a costume was around 4 or 5 years ago! Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving here in canada. =)

Last friday, i went to my friend's house and drove around the neighborhood. Roxanne finally got her car!! After few mins of driving around, they were studying for their upcoming exam .. and i was doing my nails! Oh and lol Then we went to a small house party of a friend and thats about it for that day.

Sunday - Welcome back boyfriend <3 hehe. I went to the airport to pick him up. I was so excited to see him again. I missed him oh so much! LOL then for dinner, we went to my house. my parents ordered takeouts from PIN-PIN restaurant (filipino cuisine). Dang. I was stuffed it was soooooo good! then after dinner we went back to my boyfriends house and decided to watch 9/11 movie. Im not exactly sure of the title.

Yesterday (monday)I had work from 9-5. After work, bf & i went to our friend's house at North Vancouver for another thanksgiving dinner. We were also planning our Whister trip on the 24th =)

Wow! what a long weekend! I probably gained 20 pounds from all that foood! LOL im so glad JP is back =)

First off, today is my bf & I's 10th month anniversary. He's in winnipeg right now.. he left yesterday.. and will be back on sunday. I MISS HIM ALREADY!

ok on the brighter side, after dropping off my bf at the airport i went to the mall with kamile. i FINALLY decided to buy NARS orgasm blush at sephora and i loooovee it :) It was either i buy my dress for grad which will be in a couple of weeks or the NARS orgasm.. i had to choose the blush! LOL so because of that i decided to punish myself. i will be wearing one of my dresses hanging on my closet that i dont even wear because i keep buying new ones everytime.

i promise to swatch next time.. im too lazy at the moment lol

OH and i went to watch this movie the other day called PANDORUM and it was a waste of money!a bunch of people walked out halfway of the movie lol just wanted to let you guys know ... hahaha bf wanted to watch jennifer's body because OFCOURSE megan fox is there.. but the showing time is too late i had to work the next day. so thats it my dear lovelies!

How are my lovelies doing? Im doing well. My eyes feel a lot better now. I went back to my eye doctor yesterday to get it checked again. INFECTION GONE. Yay! I used an antibiotic eye drops that was prescripted to me for about 5 days.I can now wear my contact lenses again :) I promise to take proper care when cleaning my lenses. The optometry i went to yesterday was in the mall so i decided to drop by The Bay because thats the only store i know that sells the graphic garden palette. Luckily, there were still some left:) I decided to buy it without hesitation.
I LOVEEE THE PACKAGING!

AS YOU CAN SEE IM NOT GOOD WITH SWATCHES. LOL

I'll definitely create a look with this palette so stay tuned for that :)

I went to Grand Villa Casino and Scala Show Lounge last night. A band called Famous Players played last night and let me tell you they were awesome!!!! I would get them to play in my wedding if ever i get married here hahahah for entertainment. After watching, Bf & I went around the casino and decided to play the Slot machine haha

Hey lovelies! Sorry for being MIA! I've been neglecting my blog due to my usual lazyness. I always tell myself that i will blog by the end of the night but by that time comes i fall asleep lol. I want to makeup for it and do some sort of a rest of the week happenings. We had a major black out in our area on wednesday. It was horrible! Good thing my mom stocked up on her scented candles like always LOL. My dad also got a lot of flashlights.. because we go camping a lot. I didnt want to stay home because there was no power that means no computer,tv etc. So what the freak am i suppose to do in the dark? DANCE NAKED? lol I got my bf to pick me & my brother up to grab us coffee.

So here comes the bad news...

On friday morning when i just got off the bed my right eye was hurting and i looked in the mirror it was red. I GOT SCARED. So I decided to wear my glasses instead of my lenses. I went to an eye doctor right after work and he told me that I have a bacterial infection =S ( just as i suspected). SO he gave me the antibiotic prescriptions. Apparently, I havent been rinsing my lenses thoroughly and sometimes i wear more than 10 hours. SAD. I now learned my lesson.

SO for all of you people who wear contact lenses on a daily basis, make sure you rinse them thoroughly right after use to prevent protein build ups which cause the infection. Wash your hands before you put them on and before taking them off because if you do not bacterias/germs will contaminate your lenses. Here's a quick step by step method on how to store your lenses. First, take off your lenses and place in your palm, squirt a small amount of solution onto your contacts and let it soak for 3 seconds. Then, GENTLY rub them to remove proteins and buildups. Finally, put them in a CLEAN lens case and fill it up with a solution. I was really stupid. I would just take off my lenses and throw them in the cases and fill it up with the solution. Take good care of your eyes because you only have one set.

On the weekends we went to this jewish centre to look after 30-40 kids. The pay is pretty good so we decided to do it since we dont work on the weekends. Also over the weekend, I went to MAC and shoppers drug mart.

I got the waterproof eyeshadows as a base for my shadows so they can stick to my skin better and would make the shadows more vibrant. They remind me of the shadesticks from MAC.
I will probably fill my MAC palette with more neutrals because they are wearable.
As for the primer, I havent tried it yet. But when i swatched it had the same consistency as the smashbox primers. I've always wanted to get a primer but i just feel that they are not that important to add to my foundation routine but i wanna give it a try and see if i like it.
I bought the lipstick because Fafinettex3 has been raving about them So i went ahead and got it.

On our way home, there was a heavy traffic jam at West & North Vancouver. It was horrible! So we decided to find some place to eat around the area as we wait for the traffic to clear up. We went to Dundarave beach and grabbed a beef burger & onion rings.

I met up with my 2 lovelies after to watch a movie called "500 days of summer". I didnt make it on time due to the traffic. I missed 10-15 minutes of the movie. It was an ok movie, i didnt really get the story probably because i missed the beginning. So that was my day! I cant believe i missed gossip girl season 3 last night! I'm currently downloading it =)

BEAUTIFUL FRIDAY

It was a beautiful sunny day today! It has been raining for the past few days here in vancouver. Thank God the sun came out! BUT don't you just hate those days when it's bright and sunny outside and you're stuck at work :S I got off at 6pm so the sun was still out. My boyfriend surprisingly picked me up at work today then off we went to downtown. We met up with a couple of friends and had dinner at this authentic korean restaurant down at robson st. I dont remember the name. . .uhh NOOBOO restaurant? LOL i dont know. it was goooood i LOOOVEE barbequed beef short ribs! After dinner, we decided to hang out at the beach ( English bay) and while we were walking we passed by a Liquor store and so we ended up drinking at English bay lol. The weather was perfect! Not too hot & not too cold. We just headed home after because i got tired & sleepy from the walking. I should be sleeping right now but i decided to blog :)

I got my package from forever 21 today! It actually arrived yesterday but no one was home so i had to pick it up. I placed my order last friday ( 4th) and it arrived on the 9th. Fast shipping! This was actualy the 2nd time I ordered from them. We dont have forever 21 here in vancouver so I had to order them online. They are opening a store here soon and scheduled to open on November if I'm not mistaken. Hooorayy!!! So anyways I want to share with you my great buys =)

I went to eat out with my bff at gold train express for lunch before she heads out to school ( first day) . I was craving for pho, a vietnamese soup i guess lol. We were just talking about random things then we saw a prostitute outside trying to look for customers lol

After our lunch, i met up with my 2 lovelies at the mall. I bought few items from MAC =)))

I finally got myself a palette!! I have been wanting to buy one because I always have a hard time closing my makeup drawer because all the eyeshadow pots wont fit. So I will probably start my depotting tomorrow. Plus, I think its more convenient for me so that I dont have to dig through the eyeshadows trying to look for the one i need. I also got 2 of those eyeshadow refill pans ( only sold at pro stores). I got goldmine & tempting. Im thinking of exchanging my tempting because i have time&space and it's very similar to that. I didnt realize it until i got home. They didnt have violet trance in a pro pan because it is a limited edition so i just bought the regular one. I can always depot it.
My good friend roxanne bought me the 219 brush as my long overdue birthday present. She kept insisting that she'll buy it for me. thanks roxy =))))

Today is also my bf and I's 9 month anniversary! I just went to his house and watched movies. He didnt want to go out because he was too tired from work.

Yes, I am new at this. Please bare with me =)

To start off, today was kind of a slack day for me. JP (the boyfriend) picked me up and we went to superstore to do a little bit of grocery for him. Then I cooked spaghetti at his house and watched my usual filipino soaps. Then we went to silvercity and watched Final Destination in 3D. The movie was awesome although it was very gory. It's good if you like to see people's guts all over the place.
